Don't worry - we're not the spoiler types. Much too much respect for Ms. Rowling for that...in fact, this is really just a box. A quite real box, though. Which, only hours ago, held quite real secure material within...which is still being held quite securely.

We're so on the edge of our seats right now. This is so historic!

Your Harry Potter Countdown-ometer is freaking out!

I have my copy, but I've decided not to read it till Tuesday on the plane to The Place That Shall Not Be Named Publicly On The Internet Lest I Get In A Lot Of Trouble.

This whole "New Harry Potter right there on the dresser, totally off limits" thing is completely impossible. I'm tempted to pack it into my suitcase for the rest of the weekend. I'd dig into it, but the only reason I actually bought a copy this time as opposed to waiting a few weeks and borrowing it from someone because I wanted to read it on the plane. And I know if I start reading now, I'll never be able to put it down, and I'll finish it too soon. I'm trying to console myself with the nice thick biography of Iris Murdoch I'm supposed to be reading, or any of my netflix movies, but I just can't.

How aware is Stephen? I'm assuming Lexie is still too little to understand. Last night I saw kids about their ages camped out in SoHo with their parents to get their copies at the Scholastic outlet on Prince Street! I for one cannot wait to have kids, and for them to be of an age for us to read the books together at bedtime.

I also have to say that I really admire you guys for being able to follow the instructions on that box!

It's been crazy...we're in Houston right now with some of Adrienne's family, and so even though we have waiting for us at home, I went out at midnight Friday/Saturday to their local Wally World (I know, it wasn't B&N or Borders or anything, but it was the closest place)...see, the box in the picture came from the Ruston Library, where a good friend of ours works. He brought it to us because he knows we're such fans - and he wanted to dangle in front of us the fact that he's already held the book in his hands before anyone else, b/c the library had to prep the book for circulation earlier than 7/21.

As far as our kids - Stephen has seen the first two movies. Books 3 and following are a little too mature, as are their stories. Book 7 - well, no Bourgeois offspring will touch until they're MUCH older! At least from what I've read so far - it's coming down to the apocalypse or whatever - but that's ALL I'm saying.
