In the world but not of it: On prepositions and dissonance
I'm sort of piggy-backing on Christin's "Idiot Box" entry. Sort of.
We didn't have cable for our first two years of marriage

Could have been used this morning when Brad called and woke me up at 9:45 this morning. Oh, it was soo nice. Thank you to Pop and Breamy, who I am quite sure did not sleep late this morning. I do miss you, my little SuperBoy, but I am determined to make myself enjoy this week.

Bring it on: Updated
rainy weather...very cold weather...4 snotty noses...at least 2 sore throats and aching heads...possibly 2 sets of ear infections...Green Clinic in the afternoon...big deadlines at work...mother-in-law coming in town on Wednesday.
Update:
survived the day. Green Clinic actually wasn't that bad at all. About 10 min in the waiting room and less than 10 once inside the exam room. Dash doesn't have ear infections or anything other than possibly fighting off the onset of a cold. The princess on the other hand does have one ear infection, which explains having trouble nursing the last 2 days. So an antibiotic is awaiting my pick-up at Super1 in the morning.
in-laws will be in on Wednesday afternoon and visit through the weekend. Then they will be taking Dash home with them for the week. Wow, whatever will I do with all that time besides miss him? Maybe organize and really clean all the stuff I will be stuffing in closets and skimming over before the arrival on wed.
Brad and I still feel pretty yucky but I think we will just be waiting it out the recommended 7-10 days. Hope everybody is staying warm. G'night.

Are you kidding me?
I am guilty of watching the endless top 100 type shows that make up most of VH1's current programs. This afternoon while nursing the baby it was about 1 hit wonders or something like that. But anyways, they did this little blip on actors/actresses who try to have a music career also. J. Lo and even Gwyneth Paltrow I knew about, but Bruce Willis?!? Bruce Willis oops, I mean Bruno. He put out 2 CD's. He even had a top 5 hit (thus earning the spot in that show I was watching) called "Respect Yourself." I wish he would have respected himself and just not. Seriously, click on that album picture up there, go to Amazon, and listen to the samples yourself. I am a fan of lots of 80's music, but this stuff is just wrong.

new blog
Hey, here is our new blog and I am trying everything out. It will hopefully be fully functional soon. Though things around here will never be static.

I'm so glad that wasn't my kid
That is a really awful title, but I couldn't help thinking it this afternoon. As Stephen and I were coming out of the church where his school/mother's day out is held we saw a little boy, probably about 3, who had fallen behind as he was following his mom to their car. He had stopped on this little square of grass in the middle of the parking lot and had his pants and underwear/diaper pulled all the way down. He was holding his wee-wee and looking down like he was trying to figure out how to work it. His mom who had already reached their car and was putting their stuff inside turned around and saw him and then cried out his name and asked him what in the world he was doing. At this point she saw us walking by and me smiling as I gripped Stephen's hand tightly lest he get away and do something equally embarrassing. I waved and called out something about him just being a boy. She quickly shut the door to their car and ran to scoop him up. I heard her telling him "we don't go potty out here, we'll go inside and go potty, come on..." as she ran for the door inside. I guess this is a hazard of potty-training little boys. I haven't heard too many stories of little girls just deciding to go potty wherever they are standing. Anyways, it was pretty funny, but I'm glad it wasn't my kid guilty of indecent exposure.

The Smarty Pants part I knew
Are You a Slacker Mom?
Your quiz results make you a Smarty Pants Mom
Smart parents like you have smart kids. They need plenty of intellectual stimulation and you provide them with all they need, plus lots of love. You know how to help them with algebra homework, and you are superior at kissing boo-boos.
