We have totally succumbed

It is official. We have totally succumbed to the influences of pop culture. First we blogged. Then we myspaced. Now we facebook. And again it is totally dangerous and causing of obsession. But the coolest thing about facebook that I can't say about the other two is that I have been able to find and get back in touch with a few people from my past that I otherwise wouldn't have. People that I used to know quite well and through space and time have lost contact with. They moved on with their lives. I moved on with my life. Way on. I mean I am married and almost have 3 kids. Catching up with others and reporting those facts is exciting, but makes me feel way old. And then I remind myself. Hey, we are operating on facebook here. Can't be that old right?!?

The other thing I really like about facebook is that everything on my page refers to me in the third person. Which of course is what is needs to be for everyone else to read it, but it is even in third person from my home page view. This makes Adrienne happy. Don't ask me why I like to refer to myself in the third person, but I do. I did it on occasion after we first got married. Only to discover that it seriously annoyed my spouse. So with a teeny bit of difficulty I broke the habit. To sum up: Adrienne is now using facebook and Adrienne likes it.

Elsie, welcome to the 21st century

Does this disturb anyone else?

Argentine cow clones to produce insulin in milk

I wonder if they'll engineer the cartons to run to open the fridge and run to you...

An oasis of goodness...

{sigh} Nothing caps off a looong and crazy April 14 chock full of tax prepping like lots of really well boiled, well spiced mudbugs! And then washing it down with your favorite beer. Essence of kick-back-and-enjoy-the-fruits-of-your-labor-ness....

Nothing...except a li'l inquisitive Bourgeois who was very eager to learn to peel, and even open enough (at 3 years old!!!) to suck da heads. He got the technique down pat!

"Daddy, I drinked it all gone! I like ta drink the crawfish juice out of the crawfish! But I don't like the poo-poo in the meat."

Essence of proud Louisiana fatherhood :-)

Is it just me?

Or does Stephen look just like Macauley Culkin from Home Alone? I have noticed the resemblence before now, but this photo really captures it!

Seasonal Humor (and not Eastertide)...

Babe, get the checkbook. I'm feeling generous today...

Found in the instructions for my beloved Federal Form 1120 (the corporate tax return):

How to Make a Contribution to Reduce Debt Held by the Public

To help reduce debt held by the public, make a check payable to "Bureau of the Public Debt." Send it to Bureau of Public Debt, Department G, P.O. Box 2188, Parkersburg, WV 26106-2188. Or, enclose a check with the income tax return. Contributions to reduce debt held by the public are deductible subject to the rules and limitations for charitable contributions.

I don't even have enough sarcasm to continue a commentary...
